EDOCATED ROUGHS.

It is a singular tradition at some of our universities that the undergraduate to prove himself a smart, dashing young man, must occasionally , play the part of the roung and the bully. During the fine speech of Lord Curzon -to which we refer in this paper, the Glasgow students interrupted with noisy outcries, and behaved in such a way as would have called for the interference of the police at any public meeting of working men. Still worse misconduct attended a recent visit of the Prime Minister to Aberdeen University. Mr Asquith had gone to honor the students by giving an address, and to mark their sense of gratitude a number of educated roughs seized his carriage and smashed it, doing damage to the extent of £BO.

Schoolboys are far too chivalrous for such cowardly exhibitions a.s these; but a certain type of university student considers conduct of this character the height of manly humor. Their younger friends can teach them a lesson in common courtesy.
