She is timed to sail on Tuly 5 for Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand ports, making Auckland her first jort of call in the Dominion. . The Scales chartered steamer Clan Ross irrived at Auckland from the Thames -he other morning, where she was engag'd throughout the day m taking in a supply of bunker coal. The Clan Ross oaded 550,000 ft of timber at Kopu, and she sails this morning for Kaipara to jomplete loading for Melbourne. She will load about 1,000,000 ft at the west coast port From Melbourne the Clan Ross mes to Newcastle to load coal for I renantle, thence hardwood at Bunbury tor New Zealand ports. The three English training-ships, the Hedway, Port Jackson, and Mersey, are ill now Homeward-bound from Sydney to London. The Medway, the first of the :hree to leave the antipodes, sailed on February 8, and on February 19 she was spoken in 49 degrees south 173 degrees (■•est. Possibly in a short time she will be safely docked on the Thames. The White Star vessel Mersey and the Port lackson took their departure from the New South Wales port within a few days if each other, the former on March 6 md the latter on March 12. June probably will be drawing to a close before lither vessel is reported in the English Channel. Sailing from Australia within i week of each other, it will be interestng to note which makes the quickest run —the four-masted barque Port Jackson ir the smaller full-rigged ship Mersey. During the month of May the Westcort Coal Company’s output was 50,881 ions, and 47,538 tons were exported. The ;orresponding figures for the State coal nines were 4488 tons and 4358 tons; the Westport-Stockton Coal Co/s figures were ’284 tons and 7147 tons, making a total of >2,654 tons output and 59,043 tons export?d fro mWestport. The timber exported s, mounted to 97,287 sup. feet. During :he month 98 steamers (51,099 tons) enL ered Westport, and 101 steamers and 1 sailer (51,536 tons) left that port.
