I SPECIAL TO TIMES.! AUCKLAND, June 19. A policeman on duty at Newmarket at 5.30 o’clock this morning saw a voung woman wandering about the street clad only in night attire. When approached it was found that she was walking in her sleep, and on being awakened she was unable to give any account of herself, and her memory had gone completely. Being in an exhausted condition, and suffering obviously from exposure to the bleak weather, the unfortunate woman received temporary attention at the hands of the Newmarket police, and was then hastened to the district hospital. " _ _ The police made immediate inquiries, and it was ascertained that the young woman, who is 21 years of age, was employed by an Onehunga resident, ana is regarded as a very efficient and industrious servant. She attended church last evening, qnd reaching home soon afterwards retired to bed about 930 o’clock. Her disappearance was discovered about 6.30 this morning, and some anxiety was occasioned by the fact that all her clothes were in her r00m... The Onehunga police were immediately apprised of the occurrence. It is evident that the young woman, who is afflicted with somnambulism, walked away from the house m her sleep, wandered about throughout last night, until found at Newmarket this morning. 1 The parents of fto - young woman live near Helensville. After admission to the hospital she recovered her memory, hut had no recollection of the incident overnight. She is likely to suffer from the effects of exposure.
