COMPULSORY REGISTRATION.
ANALYSIS OF GISBORNE FIGURES
The analysis of the registrations for military training giving the totals in the various sub districts in the Gisborne district as compiled by Staff-Sergeant Major Bishop, is as follows: —Gisborne 331, Whatatutu 28, Nuhaka 9, Tokomarn 55. Waipiro 18, -Frasertown 27, Wairoa 56, Waerenga-a-hika 22, Tologa. Bay 44, Te Ileinga 4, Manutuke 25, Kanakanaia 14, Moliaka 2, Makauri 7, Kaitaratahi 3, Matawai 16, Mangatu 1. Poututu 3, Rangitukia 8, Te Karaka 23' Te Araroa 19, Wlienuanui 7, Waereaga-o-kuri 2, Rere 1, Whareponga 3, V-"ha-ikarau 6. Muriwai 5, Otuko -1, Vlarekopae 2, Waikohu 7, T'upawaeroa 2 Arikihi 1, Teriroa 2, ,Tarawa 3, Mata where 16,'Port Awanui 48, Puha 11. Patutahi 33, Pakarae 2, Pouawa 2, Waimata 7, Wharerata .2. Whangara 4, Ormond 13, Waiohika 3, Makaraka 5, Tiniroto S, Rakauroa 9, Morere 1, Tuparoa 26, Motu 11, Opoutama 5, Mangaone Valley 2, Hangaroa 3, Te Rata 2, Opouiti 2, Pouawa 5, Tatapouri 1, Waipaoa 1, Tahunga 2, Waingake 9, Waikaremoana 1. Anaura 1. Iwiroa 1, Paparatu 1, Hick’s Bay 3, Repongaere 1, .Ngatapa 2, Kahakura 4.‘ Total; 996. There being 400 men already serving the total number of registrations is brought up to 1376. The ages of the 996 men registered range as follows: —Between 14 to IS. *552; 18 to 19, ISO.; 19 to 20. 135: 20 to 21, .99; medically unfit, 10. There are 210 men over 18 years of age who have horses, while 192 have no horses, 7 are in the Post and Telegraph Service, 5 in the railway service, and 10 have claimed exemption on the ground of being medically unfit. The ages of those comprising the 331 in Gisborne proper are as follow : 14-15. 35; 15-16, 51; 16-17, 49; 17-18, 43 : 18-19 62; 19-20, 42; 20-21, 44; medically unfit, 5.
