COMPULSORY REGISTRATION.

ANALYSIS OF GISBORNE FIGURES

The analysis of the registrations for military training giving the totals in the various sub districts in the Gisborne district as compiled by Staff-Sergeant Major Bishop, is as follows: —Gisborne 331, Whatatutu 28, Nuhaka 9, Tokomarn 55. The ages of the 996 men registered range as follows: —Between 14 to IS. *552; 18 to 19, ISO.; 19 to 20. 135: 20 to 21, .99; medically unfit, 10. There are 210 men over 18 years of age who have horses, while 192 have no horses, 7 are in the Post and Telegraph Service, 5 in the railway service, and 10 have claimed exemption on the ground of being medically unfit. The ages of those comprising the 331 in Gisborne proper are as follow : 14-15. 35; 15-16, 51; 16-17, 49; 17-18, 43 : 18-19 62; 19-20, 42; 20-21, 44; medically unfit, 5.
