The Meteorological Office to-night issued the following weather summary and forecast:— . • The barometer commenced to rise about midnight on Wednesday, and south-westerly winds strong to gale have prevailed since, with cold showery and changeable weather generally, though- very fine in parts at times, especially on the east coast. Present indications are for strong southerly winds with cold and changeable weather generally, and squall in Foveaux Strait. The barometer mil probably rise everywhere.
