CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING.

TARUHERU GUN CLUB.

For tlie opening shoot of- the Taruheru Gun Club held at Makaraka on Saturday afternoon, a. good number of members and onlookers assembled. The weather was favorable, and some good shooting resulted. The Club is a strong one, and' a picked team would take a ! lot of beating. The opening shoot was I for a trophy with sweepstake added, j Conditions: 8 birds from handicap marks. Result : S. G. Glennie (25yds, I 8 kills) 1, J. Munro (21yds, 6 kills) 2. T. | Sharp <2l yds, 5 kills) and P. McColl (21yds, Skill®) shot off for third place, when T. Sharp beat his man. The second sweep, 6 birls, was won by J. Munro <2l yds, 6 kills). T. Sharp and P. MoOoll (21yds, 4 kills each) again shot off for second and third places, Sharp again winning. The third sweep was won by T. Sharp with 5 kills, J. Munro (with 4' kills) securing second l money. . - Messrs W. Sharp and N. Pilcher put in some good shooting and Mr R.'Davidson acted as referee in a very capable manner. The Club is holding an all-day shoot at Makaraka next Saturday, open to all comers, and as the prizes will be substantial, a good crowd is anticipated. - i
