Mokoia, North, July 1. Monowai. South, July 2. Whangape, South, early. VESSELS IN PORT. Fanny, s.s. Magic, aux. scow. Petone, s.s. Orete, aux. sch. Whangape, s.s., in the bay. The Union Co.'s Mokoia is due to arrive from southern ports to-morrow morning, when she will be tendered at 6 a.in. and 10 a.m., afterwards proceeding to Auckland. The Union Co.'s Monowai is expected to return from Auckland on Sunday afternoon, and will be tendered as usual on arrival and at 5 p.m. She resumes her passage to Napier during the evening. The Union Co.'s Haupiri is expected to come out of dock at Auckland next week. She will sail from that port to Wellington. calling at East Coast bays, Gisborne, and Napier. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.'s liner Athenic, which was due here yesterday morning, did not arrive, owing to the fact that she had been delayed at Napier by bad weather. She is, however, ex-' pec ted to drop anchor in the roadstead this morning. The auxiliary scow Magic to port late on Wednesday evening, having encountered very heavy weather south of Portland Island. She sheltered for some hours under Young Nick's Head, and on the seas commencing to strike in at that point she made for the river entrance, •which she negotiated successfully. Messrs. Richardson and Co.'s Fanny, which sailed for Napier on Wednesday evening, had to return to port on account of the heavy weather, and is expected to sail this morning, providing the weather moderates.

The strong southerly wind and seas prevailing yesterday made it almost impossible to lighter the Union Co.' Whangape. which was discharging coal in the bay, and very little was done during the day. The Union Co.’s cargo steamer Kowliai is due to leave Dunedin for Gisborne, via Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Napier, to-day.

The Canterbury Shipping Co.'s Petone arrived from Napier yesterday afternoon, bringing a general cargo. Messrs. Richardson and Co.'s Kotunui is due to clear Auckland for Gisborne tomorrow. Messrs.
