Messrs. Richardson and Co.'s Ripple arrived from Wellington, via Napier, on Saturday morning, and returned south the same evening, after discharging the following cargo:—-20 cases benzoline, 202 pieces Oregon, 500 packages general, 650 cases kerosene, 664 pieces jarrah, 12 piles, 1000 drain pipes, 150 junctions. 133 pieces timber, 9386 feet timber, 250 posts, 12 sacks potatoes, 34 sacks lime, 17 sheep, 43 boxes soap. Messrs. Richardson and Co.'s steamer Fanny finally departed for Napier on Saturday morning, after two vain attempts to clear the bay. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.'s Athenic conjpleted her loading from this port, and proceeded to Napier late on Saturday night. The Union Co.’s Mokoia, from Napier, dropped anchor in the roadstead .at an early hour on Saturday morning, and after being attended by the Tuatea' at the usual hours proceeded to Auckland. The Union S.S. Co.'s Monowai, which was detained at Auckland in order to bring on consignments of Island fruit, did not leave the northern port until 8.35 p.m. on Saturday night. She had a good passage down the coast, and passed East Cape at 1.45 p.m. yesterday, arriving at Gisborne at 8.30 last evening. Owing to the thick haze the steamer had difficulty in picking up the port, and the Tuatea had to steam otit beyond Tuahine Point to bring the Monowai up to the anchorage. The steamer sailed again for South at 11 o'clock last night. The Union S.S. Co.'s Tarawera arrives from South early on Wednesday, and proceeds later on the same morning for Auckland, via Tokomaru Bay. The Union S.S. Co.’s Haupiri left Auckland last night for Limestone Island, Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington. The Union S.S. Co.'s cargo steamer Kowhai left Oamaru at 7 o'clock on Saturday night, en route for Gisborne. The Union S.S. Co.'s cargo steamer Squall left Auckland at 2.30 on Saturday afternoon for Tologa Bay, and is due here to-day. On receiving her discharge the steamer returns to Auckland. The Union S.S. Co.'s collier Whangape,

which had been busy discharging a con- ' ••signment of coal at Gisborne since Tuesday, completed her work on Saturday, and sailed for Napier at midnight on the _ same day. The vessel will discharge the remainder of her coal cargo, about 300 tons, at Napier, and will then proceed to Westport, from which port she will go on to Auckland.
