• Messrs. Huddart, Parker, and Co/s Wimmera arrived from Napier and southern ports on Saturday morning, and after being tendered at the usual hours left for Sydney, via Tokomaru Bay and Auckland. The Union Co.’s Taraw.era, which left Auckland at noon on Saturday, arrived here about 1 p.m. yesterday, and sailed again for Napier early in the evening, taking 15 racehorses and a large number of passengers._ The Union Co.’s Haupiri is to leave Wellington for Picton, Napier, and Gisborne, and will in all probability arrive here on Thursday, leaving later for Auckland. If there is sufficient inducement she will be brought up to the wharf.
The Union Co.’s Squall arrived from Auckland, via Tologa Bay, on Saturday morning. She finished discharging about 10 o’clock on the same evening, and sailed at midnight for Auckland direct. It' is expected that she will leave Auckland for Tologa Bay and Gisborne to-morrow. The Gisborne Harbor Board’s dredge Maui took her departure for Auckland on Saturday, and will undergo her annual overhaul. The Kaiapoi Shinning Co. s Kairaki, from the south with a general cargo, arrived on Saturday morning. She completed her discharge on Saturday afternoon, and proceeded to Tokomaru Bay early in the evening. Messrs. Richardson ’and Co.’s Ruru, which left Gisborne for Tologa Bay on Saturdav. taking the Poverty Bay Rugby Union’s team, returned with the team yesterday morning, and sailed aim net immediately for Napier. The Union Co.’s cargo steamer Waitemata left Bluff on Saturday for Oamem, Timaru, Napier, _ and Gisborne, She arrives here late in the week.
