At the Festival of. Empire sports, Finlay (Westralia) won the first heat of the “King’s Cup,” with 15 points. Schiele was second with 10 points, and Atkinson (New Zealand) third with S points. In the 600 yards teams’ race, London beat the Overseas Dominions by a touch.

At the Festival of Empire swimming sports there was an enormous crowd at the Highgate Ponds. Finlay won the King’s Cup, having increased his points to 30. Schiele got 20 points, Blatherwick 14, Atkinson (New Zealand) 10, and Champion (New Zealand) 6. Johnston, of Canada, won the 110 yards handicap for overseas visitors. Draper (Canada) was second, a cadet named Furniss from New South Wales was third, and Hardwick (N.S.W.) 4tli. An Australasian team, consisting of Woodger and Sheet (New Zealand), Steward (Tasmania), and Wheatley (Victoria), won the mile relay race at Beckenham.
