LORD KITCHENER AND THE DEFENCE MOVEMENT.
[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. LONDON, July 7. Mr. Fisher and Sir Joseph Ward had a splendid reception at various Glasgow function s. Sir Joseph Ward, at a luncheon at the City Chambers, said that New Zealanders were pleased to receive the Lord Provost’s message expressing goodwill. Lord Kitchener, receiving the freedom of the city, remarked that lie was particularly pleased to be associated with Mr. Fisher and Sir Joseph Ward, because he had submitted to their Governments the military reorganisation schemes now being carried out with the thoroughness that so notably marked all Australia’s and New Zealand’s undertakings. Sir J. G. and Lady Findlay have started for the Continent. Mr. Fisher has received' the freedom of Edinburgh.
