MIXED FOURSOME
A mixed foursome was played on the Poverty Bay Golf Club’s links on Saturday afternoon, and brought out 22 pairs. This form of competition has always proved most popular with local players, and Saturday’s programme was no exception to the rule.. Ihe winners turned up in Mrs. Traill and C. Morgan, who, with a handicap ‘of 10, did the fourteen holes in SB, which gave'them a net score of 18. Ihe following cards were returned: Mrs. Traill and C. CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING. MATCH AT WAERENGA-A-HIKA. The Waerenga-a-hika Gun Club shot off a £lO handicap match at Mr. F. Hall’s paddock on Saturday afternoon. Twenty-seven marksmen faced the traps. K. Ruru won the first prize, with six kills out of eight birds. R. Pilcher and TI. Cook tied for second place with five each out of eight. K. Ruru and R. Pilcher tied for Mr. Colebrook’s trophy for most kills with the first with five kills apiece, Ruru securing the trophy in the shootoff.
