A DWELLING ABLAZE
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.! INGLEWOOD, July 10. A six-roomed house, the properry of Owen Priest, Palmerston North, Avas destroyed by fire last bight.. A little furniture was saved. The insurance on the house Avas £325 in the Victoria office.
BOARDING HOUSE DESTROYED. STRATFORD, July 10. A fire on Sunday morning totally destroyed a boarding-house in Broadway North, occupied by Mrs Greig. The building belonged to Hill’s estate, and ivas insured for £SOO in the Imperial office, and the furniture fov £320 in the State office. The boarders had insurances on their effects- totalling £2BO in the National office, and £6o' in the New Zealand office. The occupants only escaped in their night clothes. The origin of the fire is unknoAvn. BOARDING HOUSE GUTTED.
ASHBURTON. July lv. The Methven boardinghouse of eighteen rooms, Avas totally destroyed by fire this afternoon. The building Avas oAvned and occupied by Mr George Dore, and the. origin of the fire is unknoAvn. Only a portion of the furniture Avas saved,‘but fortunately the wind Avas favorable, or else other buildings must have gone too. The neAV Bank of New Zealand buildings .suffered someAvhat from- the heat, many Avindows being bi’oken. The insurances are £250 on the building, and £95 on the furniture in the Northern Company.
