AUCKLAND, July 10. A special meeting of school teachers has beVfi convened to consider the proposal make use of cinematograph pictures for definite instruction in school for subjects such as geography, history, and natural study. Mr. Cousins,_ president of the Headmasters’ Association, having ohtained the approval of the Education- Board to a scheme of the kind being introduced, teachers are being called together to evolve working arrangements. PUGILISTS' FINED AT PALMERSTON.
PALMERSTON N.. July 10. Dave Smith and A. Kelly, pugilists at present with the Jock Willis Caledonian Company,'were to-day each fined 10s and costs for engaging in a boxing contest at Palmerston North without complying with the provisions of the Police" Offences Act. BAND ROTUNDA FOR NELSON. NELSON, July 10. The Pitt Memorial Committee decided to-night to erect ,a band rotunda on Milton’s Acre—a public reserve— to the memory of the late Hon. Albert Pitt.
