The Acting State Premier has written to the Federal Government, rejecting ia proposal to pay as from July Ist last 3 per centum interest on transferred properties, and to set aside not less than half per centum of a sinking fund for liquidation of debt. He claims that the current rate of interest, per centum, should be paid. He considers the Comonwealth proposal likely to- seriously rupture the relations between the Comonwealtli and the States. He is taking steps to call an inter-State conference to. deal with matters existing.
