LIVES OR DOLLARS? THE SANTA ROSA WRECK. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.] NEW YORK, July 10. It is alleged that at least a dozen passengers were drowned by the wreck of the Santa Rosa, because the captain was ordered to keep the passengers on the ship. Survivors are organising to press charges against the company of sacrificing lives for dollars.
A MIDNIGHT COLLISION. PASSENGERS THRILLING EXPERIENCE. OTTAWA, July 10. Three persons were drowned and thirty-one rescued, after a thrilling midnight experience, on the steamer John Mitchell, which was sunk in a collision with another ship* on; Lake Superior. The othr ship is afloat.
