AERIAL TARGETS.
EXPERIMENTS IN AMERICA
The U.S. army and navy authorities will next month carry out a series of experiments in ordnance practice at aerial targets consisting of kites and small balloons.
Hitherto, in experiments of this kind) the service rifle' has been used, but in those to be made next month 3-in. quickfiring guns are to' be utilised, for which the Ordnance Department has had specially designed some highly sensitised percussion shells each weighing 1681 b.
