Lovers of fiction will be pleased to leam that the “Times” has secured the rights of a- splendid story, entitled “On the Brink of a Chasm,” by that wellknown and popular English novelist, LT. Meade, and the first, chapter of the new story, which throbs with human passion, will appear on Wednesday morning next. Followers of good literature are familiar with the works of this brilliant novelist, and it is sufficient to say that his latest effort- compares more than favorably with anything which has yet appeared from the versatile pen of this popular author.
