The Mauretania landed last week at Fishguard: Dr. James J. Choate, who is making a trip from' California to Rome to attend Mrs. Browning and her daughter, who have keen suddenly taken ill while touring in Italy. Mrs Browning is the wife of a wealthy Los Angelos merchant, to whom Dr. Choate has for years been the family physician. Dr. Choate on arrival at Rome will have travelled 7750 miles since May 17. A hill ewe on Nithsdale farm at Dalgleish, Ulzieside, Dumfriesshire, has given birth for the third year in succession to triplets. For three years previously she had twins. This gives a total of fifteen lambs in six seasons. The ewe is to be made a pensioner on the farm, a consideration to which she is entitled after 'her exceptional record.
