N.Z. ATHLETIC AND CYCLING UNION. LFEB PRESS ASSOCIATIOIT.S WELLINGTON, July 13A meeting of the executive committee of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union was held to-day. It was decided that all runners now under the jurisdiction of the Auckland centre who had competed at unregistered meetings prior to the formation of that centre should be granted a “clean sheet.” The next conference was fixed to be held at Auckland at the time of the union’s championship meeting. SPORT® PROTECTION LEAGUE. A meeting was held to-night to form a New Zealand Sports Protection League. Mr H. D. Bell, K.C., presided, and racing, trotting, football, hockey, golf, tennis and athletic bodies throughout New Zealand were represented. It was resolved: —“That this conference of the New Zealand sports organisations. realising the necessity for safeguarding our national sports and pastimes, resolves that a New Zealand Sports Protection Association be formed, with branches throughout the Dominion, and that a central board of control in Wellington, consisting of Messrs C. P. Skerrett, K.C., J. Coates. H. D. Bell, K.C., Hon. Dr. Collins, M.L.C., be set up to draft the constitution.
