ENTERTAINMENTS.

PATHE PICTURES

Good moving picture programmes invariably attract large audiences, and the management of the Pathe Pictures have been more than ordinarily fortunate in their selection of films of late. Indeed, the uniform excellence of the items presented has been so consistent that patrons attend the Theatre in large numbers every time pictures are being shown-. This evening the usual one night change is to be made, the pictures comprising it being well up to the average. Possibly the most- pleasing item is a travel and educational subject- entitled "Salzburg and the Park of Hellbrun.” The town is well known- for its salt mines and many are the views of fin© architecture contained in the picture. "The Dutch East Indies.” which belongs to the same class, illustrates the scenery, customs and life in Java, with beauty and devotion to detail. Besides the usual cluster of stirring and magnificent di-annas there are many droll condos of which "Bertie’s Bandit” is said to be the foremost. It is a love story in which a studious young man is the' principal actor, and the story of how he captures an outlaw and thereby wins a girl’s affection is told' in a most amusing manner. The comics also include "Foolshead Tries Shooting,” and "Tonrtolini ini Armor.”
