Messrs Huddart Parker and Co/s Victoria leaves Napier this evening and arrives in the roadstead early to-morrow morning. The Tuatea is timed to connect at 6 a.m. and at 10 a.m., and the Victoria will resume her passage to Sydney via Auckland and Tokomaru Baj about noon. The Union Co/s Tarawera, which is expected to clear Auckland to-morrow, should arrive here on Sunday afternoon, when she will be tendered on arrival and at 5 p.m. She proceeds to Napier in the evening. „ , _ , The Canterbury Shipping Co. s Petone. with about 300 tons of produce, arrived from southern ports yesterday, and after discharging loaded a quantity of maize and returned south. . Messrs Richardson and Co. s Ripple is due here from South to-day, and returns to Wellington after discharging. The new steamer Zealandic, which was launched by Harland and Wolff. Ltd., at Belfast, last week, is the vessel which is to replace the Delphic in the New Zealand trade. The Zealandic is a large twin-screw cargo steamer of 10.000 tons register, and will be one of the finest cargo boats trading to Australia or New Zealand. Steps will shortly be taken to erect the new light at the Hen and Chickens, the light being an automatic acetone acetylene light, which will run for 125 days without renewal. The Marine Department is alsd engaged in erecting a new lighthouse on Castle Point, betweeen Wellington and Napier. The annual report of the Devonport Steam Ferry Co., Auckland, presented at the meeting of shareholders, states that the net profit for the year, after adding £SOO *to the insurance account. £250 to reserve account, and writing off allowances for depreciation, is £4536 16s: which, added to the balance brought forward last year, after payment of dividend, £6643, makes a total of £10,199 16s; An interim dividend was paid in December last for the half-year ended October 31st, 1910. amounting to £2OOO, leaving a balance to credit of profit and loss account of £8999 16s. The directors recommend that a dividend at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum for the half-year ending April 30th, 1911, be paid, which will absorb £2OOO, and that the balance. £6999 16s, be carried forward to next year’s account. The liner Drayton Grange, which sailed finally from Lyttelton last Thursday for West of England ports, took the following cargo from New Zealand ports:— For Avonmouth —100 cases meats, 80 casks pelts, 67 packages brass, 13,135 sacks wheat, 1522 carcases mutton, 478 crates rabbits. For Liverpool—433o packages beef, 26,317 carcasses mutton, 2000 crates rabbits, 100 carcases pork, 2429 sacks wheat, 41 dumps tow, 7 casks casings, 1982 cases meats, 47 bales clippings, 3 cases merchandise, 395 sacks peas. For Manchester—999 sack sand, 1 case aeroplane, 1 case merchandise. For Glasgow —2653 packages beef, 175 carcases mutton, 250 crates rabbits, 1199 casks runners, 21 cases ox tongues, 6 carcasses pork, 24 casks tallow, 2390 cases meats, 90 dumps tow, 80 pieces timber, 2 cases hides, 20 tons scrap iron.
