HODIE MARKETS. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, July 23. Wheat: 650 Ofcons of July shipment sold at 33s 3d. Two cargoes sold at 33s 44d, a third at 33s 6d', and a fourth at 335. The wheat markets are quiet, buyers only filling immediate requirements, as the harvest is expected to commence in England and France in a few days. Cargoes are neglected, holders asking 33s 9d for South Australian March shipments, 34s for ApriLMav shipments, 34s 3d for Victorian July-August shipments and 33s for South Australian and Victorian parcels afloat. There is a quiet demand for Australian on spot at 365. Butter is very firm on account of the drought continuing. Danish, 120 s to 1225: choicest Australian, on spot, 106 s to 108 s. unsalted l 108 s to 110 s, secondaries 96s to 102 s. Stored is cleaning well. Cheese: From New Zealand, 60s to 61s; Canadian, 58s to 60s. Australian is selling slowly at late rates. The hemp market is active. A June to August shipment sold at £2l. Jute, native, first marks, August shipment, £2O 10s. Cotton July to August shipment, sold at 6.95 jd". Rubber is at 4s 7£d. LONDON WOOL SALES. PRICES: FOR N.Z. CLIPS. LONDON, July 22. At the wool sales the following prices were realised for the fleece, portions of the clips named: Taratahi, top 144 d, average Howard, top lid, ave-
rage 10gd ; Titirangi, top price Is, average 9id; Pare, lid &nd;9fd; Mt. White 24d and 22£d; Mendip Hill 13d and 12*d ; Hauiti, 13d and llid; Turure, lOd and 9fd; Ohuka, 23d and 21 £d. A miscellaneous selection was offered. Prices are unchanged. To date 110,868 bales have been offered, and 98,108 bales sold.
