ROWING.

GISBORNE ROWING CLUB

A special meeting of the above Club was held in the Masonic Hotel last evening. Mr J. H. Pnflett presided. There w r ere present Messrs I. J. Quigley. D. H. Faram, W. S. Coleman, \j. W. Muir, H. Toeker, O. Hansen, R. o. Dobson, and P. R. McConville. There was a large amount of correspondence to he dealt with. The Uawa Rowing Club wrote thanking the committee for the kindnesses extended to them on their recent visit to Gisborne. It was decided to write and offer the Band Contest Committee the use of tire Club House during contest week. Mr Geo. Buscke, on behalf of the Birilding -Committee, reported favorably on the building, and recommended a progress payment of £IOO, which amount was passed for payment.. Other accounts totalling £3l were also passed. A working bee was formed' to make small improvements at the Club house, Mr Buscke kindly donating a quantity of timber for the purpose.
