“HANG UP THE STAMPERS.”
WAIHI MINING CRISIS. [FEE FEESS ASSOCIATION.! WAIHI, July 24. Instructions were issued by the superintendent of tlie Grand Junction Company yesterday to hang up the stampers till after Tuesday. This action is influenced as a' result of the present mining dispute. SHARES EASE IN PRICE. RUMORS OF STOPPAGE RIFE. AUCKLAND, July 24. Both Wailii and Wailii Grand Junction shares eased in price to-day, thus seeming to confirm the private advices received that there is still a danger of labor troubles occurring at Wailii. Shares in the Wailii Grand Junction sold as low as 26s 9d, but afterwards changed hands at a3d advance. Wailii shares even transferred at 62s 6d, and 62s 9d. There arc various rumors rife pointing to the probability of a stoppage of operations, but on the other hand it is thought an amiable arrangement should be arrived at and thus prevent the serious loss entailed both to the men and the shareholders in the mining companies that must result from a stoppage of work in the mines.
