MONTHLY MEETING
There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting held by the Women’s Christian Temperance Union yesterday afternoon. Correspondence from other branches was read and discussed. Reports were received from the following departments of work. Literature, Visiting, Treasurer’s and Anti-Opium. It was decided that the Union present a gold medal for the band of hope contest for tire best essay on. the subject of “Temperance.” A sub-committee was appointed to deal with this matter. Mrs Oaks, secretary for the Women’s Crusade attended l and some discussion took place on this line of work. Mrs Gaskin, president of the Greymoutli branch of the Union, was also present, and; gave a- short and very interesting address on “white ribbon” work and temperance, work generally and also spoke on the Women’s Crusade movement.
