LATEST NEWS.

ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE OFFICIALS. COMMISSION OF INQUIRY APPOINTED. [SPECIAL 10 TIMES.] AUCKLAND, August 2. A commission is shortly to inquire into allegations respecting certain officials at Mount Eden gaol. The circumstances are stated to be not altogether unlike those in a case heard in Auckland some years ago.
