MINISTERS AND THE JUDGES.
MR, JUSTICE GRANTHAM PREPARED TO GO TO PRISON. Mr. Justice Grantham, speaking at a Coronation banquet at NeAvcastle, said the judges felt their .great position. They Avere the servants of the oublic and had a duty toAvards the public. As in the past they were prepared to go to prison rather than obey the behests of an unscrupulous monarch, so noAv they AA-ere prepared to go to prison rather than obey—he would not say the dictates of an unscrupulous Minister but of a Minister Avho might bring unfounded charges against, them. They would endeavor to do their duty and protect the liberties of the people.
