THE RUGBY GAME.
TO-MORROW’S MATCHES
The team to represent Garrison thirds in their match with Y.M.P. at the Domain next Saturday at 1.45 will be chosen from the following:—Atkinson, Abbott, East, Dennett, R. Ambridge, G. Dennett, Walters, Oman, Hansen, Trafford, Hargreaves, Stitch-, bury, Stevens, Tier, File, Lloyd, Camrock, Sant, and Church. The following teams will represent the Y.M.C.A. Football Club in the matches on Saturday next:— Seniors v. Y.M.P., Domain, 3 p.m.: Atkinson, Pita te Hau, Campbell, King, Davis, Ferris, Bradley, McColl, Russell, Pewhairangi, Patterson, Winter, Wood, Stewart, Rangi. Juniors v.‘ Kaiti-City, Domain, 1.45 p.m.: Seccombe, Dudson, Breingan, Porter, Graham, Buchanan, Hutton, Kay, Nelson, Aitken, Moore, Chimside, Chrisp, and Gardiner. Thirds v. High School, Park, 3 p.m.: Team -will be picked from: Parker, Butler, Clare, Moore, West, Bousfield, Quigley, Stevenson, Greig, Bean, Runciman, Ovenden, Nesbitt, Fyson, Parsons, Barlow, Evans and Vowles. MAORI TOURING TEAM. DEFEATED BY TARANAKI. [FEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.) STRATFORD, August 10. The football match Maoris v. Taranaki was ; layed there to-day, and resulted in a win for Taranaki by 17 to 16. The Maoris were unfortunate to lose, the game being won on the tick of time by a penalty kicked by Stohr. At the end of the first spell the score was: Taranaki 14, Maoiris 3. The Maoris had the best of the second spell and were leading up to the last moment. For Taranaki Brown, Stohr and Tanner scored tries. .Cameron converted one try and Stohr kicked two penalty goals. For the Maoris tries were scored by Rogers, Takarangi, Dawson and Winiata. Rogers converted two of them. NORTHERN UNION GAME. WELLINGTON DEFEATS TARANAKI. rPEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.J NEW PLYMOUTH, August 10. The Northern Union match, Wellington v. Taranaki, was played here day on a dry 'ground l . It was a good game to watch, but the visitors had a more intimate knowledge of the rules and were in far better condition than the local men. Wellington won by 23 points to 15. Tries were scored for the winners by Gibson (2), Hogan (2), Rosooe, Callaghan and Braid, Hogan kicking a goal firom his own try. For Taranaki Tocker and Twohill scored tries, while Stockman converted two of them and kicked a goad from a mark. The attendance of the public was small.
