Vice-Admiral Sir George Fowler King Hall, Commander-in-Chief of the Australian station, has ordered the postponement till Wednesday of the sailing of H.M. ships Cambrian, Pryamus, Pioneer, and Psyche, which were to have left for Colombo, to be recommissioned. The precise reason of the alteration in tho programme was not officially made knnvn, but it was the general opinion in naval circles to bo the result of the present unsettled state of international affairs. The Com-mander-in-Cliief,- who is aboard H.M.S. Powerful, is expected to return to Sydney to-day or to-morrow. In the event of hostilities the paying-off orders, of the ships might be cancelled indefinitely. Large stocks of coal arc coming forward from New Zealand for the Admiralty.
