Mr. Melvin Vaniinan is to make another attempt to cross the Atlantic, this autumn, from America to Europe in a dirigible balloon, which is now under construction in Ohio. The new’ expedition (writes our London correspondent) is due to the financial assistance of Mr. F. A. Sieberling ,of Ohio, and the cost will be upwards of £30,000. Mr.'Vaairman is a native of Illinois, but has been in most parts of the earth. He spent some years in New’ Zealand, end then, crossing to Australia, he conuined photography with aeronautics. So far he has had three big failures, two at Spitzbergen and the attempt to cross the Atlantic' in the airship America last year.
