Tho Meteorological Office, to-night issued' the following weather summary and forecast: — Cloudy and rainy weather has prevailed except on the eastern part of the South Island. Moderate to strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, but a'northerly gale is reported this evening at East Capo. Tho barometer has fallen slightly everywhere. Present indications are for rain in most parts of the oountry, with strong northerly' and westerly winds changing to southerly after from about sixteen to twenty-four hours, when a rising barometer is probable.
