DROWNING FATALITY.
BODY FOUND IN WAIAPU RIVER. Advice was recieved -esterday by Sergeant Hutton that the body of a man had been found yesterday moining at the crossing in the Waiapu River between, Rangituki and Port Awanui. Constable Wales has. taken charge' of the body, which) is said t<oi be in a good state of preservation. There is little doubt but what it is that of William Douglas, who was supposed to have been l drowned in a. creek near Takapau some weeks ago, as lie is the only son who is reported to be missing from that locality. A pair of leggings were found on the body, which; are said to correspond with those worn by Douglas when he disappeared. If this is correct the body has been carried about twenty miles from the place where the fatality is supposed to have occurred. lfie bodv has been removed to Port Awanui where an inquest will he held.
