Alert, scow. Messrs. Huddart, Parker, and Co.'s Victoria arrived from southern ports on Saturday morning, and left for Tokomaru Bay and Auckland after being tendered at the usual hours. A Press Association telegram received last night states that the Victoria arrived at Auckland at 9.45 a.m. yesterday. The Union Co/s Tarawera, which left Auckland at noon on Saturday, experienced very bad weather after rounding East Cape, and did not arrive until 4.30 p.m. yesterday. She left again for Napier early in the evening. . The Union Co/s Haupiri, which experienced the full force of the heavy sea running on the coast, arrived here from Auckland, via East Coast ports, yesterday morning, and proceeded South later. After working Wellington she goes to Westport to load coal for Wellington, and she then comes on to Napier, Gisborne, East Coast ports, and Auckland. She is, at present, due to call here on Monday, 28th inst. The Union Co/s Squall, w'hich arrived here from Auckland on Saturday morning, was unable to work Tologa Bay on account of the heavy north-east swell running on the coast. She discharged the following cargo here: —340 bags cement, 100 bags lime, 240 sacks coal, 28 0 bales kapok, 20 piles ex Maheno, 40 bags and 16 sacks sugar, 60 cases spirits, 1 case tobacco, 100 bundles laths, 50 cases kerosene, and large quantity sundries and general merchandise. The Squall left for Tologa Bay and Auckland on Saturday night. She returns to Gisborne at an early date, and will then take a load of cattle for Auckland. The Union Co/s Wanaka left Bluff on Saturday night for Napier direct, whence she comes on to Gisborne, and leaves for Auckland later. The dredge Maui returned from Auckland on Saturday, having completed her overhaul.
