GISBORNE SCHOOL CONCERT.
‘ [TO THE 13DITOR.] Sir, —In these days of hysterical laughter it is seldom one has the exquisite pleasure of feeling one is face to face with a daring piece of originality, with its introduction into it-s military interpretation the illustrated song at the above school concert showed a masterly stroke. None but the Giver of Life understands the tragedy of its destruction. The of bringing into harmony the conception of resignation with that of settled purpose by the aid of living representatives and dead emblems, was also capital. Ido not know whether the organiser be a member of the Gisborne School, but I would pay this tribute that there w r as in the item something bordering on genius. I shall be leaving by Saturday’s boat, but would like to add mine to the expressed desire. of many: We would like to see the performance again.—I am, etc., “VISITOR.”
