A NEW MILE RECORD. IPS” T’BESS ASSOCIATION..! CHRISTCHURCH, August 26. Mr R. O. Duncan’s horse King Cole, by Ribbonwood—Kola Nut, established a new mile pacing record for Australasia on the Metropolitan Club's track this morning. The record stood at 2.9, made on tlie same course by Ribbonwood. King Cole, indifferently paced, cut out the mile in 2.8 3-5. King Cole also holds the two mile Australasian record, 4.31.
