POINT-TO-POINT MATCH. A novel competition in the form of a point-to-point match filled the bill at the Poverty Bay Golf Club’s links on Saturday afternoon. Seven holes were played as follow : —From 9th tee to 2nd hole, from 3rd tee to 17th hole, from within 20 yards of 17th green to. 13th hole, from behind 13th green to 18tli hole, from Ist tee to 3rd hole, from 4th tee to 9th hole, from 10th tee to 7th hole. As may be imagined these holes took some playing, many balls being lost and tempers ruffled by the difficulties encountered in attempting. to carry swamps and plantations. Even the line of least resistance bristled with pitfalls for the unwary, and the many fearsome bunkers took a lot of circumventing. The following were the best cards returned :
Next Saturday the monthly medal competition will be played.
