At the Supreme Court to-day William McCarthy, for the theft of a silver watch was found guilty and sentence was deferred till to-morrow. Frederick Ewart, for cruelly illtreating a horse by 'failing to provide it with proper food, water and: shelter, was also found guilty. The Chief Justice said he would not impose a term- of imprisonment, but would take till to-morrow to consider what fine he would impose.
