Workmen at Fougeres compelled the shopkeepers to sell at prices fixed by the Labor Exchange. A mob at St. Quentin stoned the firemen who were -extinguishing an incendiary grain store fire. Troops charged the mob,. severely injuring several rioters. . . A bricklayer was caught m the act of setting fire to an adjoining granary. LONDON, Sept, 6.

The general labor unrest in Europe is attributed to the universal increase in food prices, consequent on the drought.
