The Chelmsford Stakes resulted: Los Angelos 1, Flavinius 2, Bright Ladder 3. There were twenty starters. Won by half a neck. Time, lmin 53-J-sec. Bright Laddie led for most of the way, but at the distance Flavinius took charge. Los Angelos was then lying fifth, but put in a magnificent effort and won by a short neck.
