Waiapu, ketch. On account of unfavorable weather conditions the Union Company’s Squall did not put in an appearance until 7.45 p.m. last night, when she berthed at the wharf. She left Auckland on Saturday at 6.6 p.m. and heavy head wind and seas were encountered across the Bay of Plenty. As a consequence East Cape was not rounded until 8.15 a.m. on Monday. Tologa Bay was reached at 2 p.m., and the voyace was resumed at 3.15 p.m., and the Squall arrived as stated above. Included in a large general cargo are the following packages 32 sacks and 440 bags sugar, ISO slis coal, 14 rolls and 14 bales naoer, 13S sks 20/100s and 160/50s flour, 20 bags slag, 40 bags salt, 162 boxes soap, 50 boxes candles, 29 gross bottles; transhipped ex Aparima 77 tons, Bimutaka 30 tons, Karamea 20 tons, W hakarua 15 tons, and Cape Ortegai 15 tens; a.so large quantity of sundries and genual merchandise. . The Union Co.’s Tarawera is due to arrive in the roadstead from Napier and southern ports to-morrow morning. The launch leaves the ivharf to connect at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., and the Tarawera proceeds to Auckland via Tokomaru Bay about noon. The Union Co.’s Hauroto, which went North on Saturday, leaves Auckland for Tokomaru Bay and Gisborne to-day and should arrive here early to-morrow afternoon. The Tuatea will connect on arrival and at 7 p.m. and the Hauroto resumes her passage to Napier and the South later in the evening. The Tyser Co.’s liner Indralema is due to a I rive here from Timaru early this morning to load about 19,000 carcases of frozen meat, 200 casks of tallow, and 100 bales of wool. She proceeds to Napier from this port. The Union Co.’s Kurow is expected to arrive here from southern ports at an early date. The Union Co.’s cargo steamer Kowhai was expected to clear Dunedin for Gisborne via the usual ports yesterday. The Union Co.’s collier Waipori was due to arrive in Auckland from Newcastle yesterday and was timed to leave the former port for Gisborne last evening. The scow Curlew, which has been commissioned to inaugurate the trade in white pine timber between Gisborne and Sydney, sailed for the latter port yesterday afternoon with about 100,000 feet of timber from Messrs Peacocke and Co.’s mills. .
