COMBINED SUBMARINE AND TORPEDO BOAT. •VICTORIAN’S WONDERFUL INVENTION. [UNITED PEEBS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT.J (Received Sept. 12, 1 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 11. A resident of Victoria lias invented a combined submarine and torpedo boat with an indicate!' which he claims improves its navigability, and also indicates the exact position of an enemy when submerged. The total cost of the boat will not be more than £SOOO, and it can be handled by a crew of five. The Defence Department has ordered a full investigation into the merits of the invention.
