HOSPITAL FEES.
BIG PROPORTION UNPAID. INTERESTING COMPARATIVE RETURN. The question, of the fees payable at the Gisborne Public Hospital is one that has for some time occupied no little amount of attention! by the local body interested. Recently Dr, Collins ttineiiiiced liis intention of endeavoring to have the fees reduced to £1 per week in oases where they were guaranteedl by the patients or their friends 1 . This subject cairn©. up for discussion at the meeting of the Board last night, but was allowed t.o stand over, at tliie instance cf the chairman, until the by-laws be further considered. As wideremg. however, tlie extent to which legitimate charges, .under the present scheme, remain unpaid, the following figures, (laid on the. table' by Dr. Collins, will no doubt be of interest:—
This subject will in all probability be fully discussed at the next regular meeting of the Board. _____
