STORE DESTROYED BY FIRE
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.! TAIHAPE, Sept. 18. About 8 p.m. oil Saturday a fire at Ellis and Darvill’s store Materoai, totally destroyed the building and stock. The fire originated in the store-room, where a lamp was being used. It was discovered to be'in flames after a short absence,of the manager frcim the room. The insurance is ill the Alliance office, buildings £3OO and stock £475. TOWN HALL FOR TAIHAPE. The Borough Council 1 has approved of a plan for a new Town Hall, and is .calling for tenders for the construction of the came.
