BOROUGH COMMITTEES.
A READJUSTMENT.
The changes in the personnel of the Borough Council which have taken place recently here, rendered 1 the reappointment of committees. •At last night’s meeting the Mayor announced that he had decided to suggest the following readjustment: Works Committee: Crs. Brown, Darton, Smith, "Wade and "Sawyer. ;- Finance Committee’: Crs. Collins, Bright, Darton and Smith, Sanitary Committee: Crs. Sawyer, Webb, Wade. Collins and Wildish. Abattoirs Committee :_ Crs Bright, Wade, Brown and Wildish. The Mayor was appointed chairman of all committees. A , motion by C’r. Collins that the Works Committee consist of the whole Council was not seconded. • The Mayor stated that in drawing up the committees he had; done so l in such a way that no councillor would he on more than two committees. Cr. Collins asked that his name should be removed from the Finance Committee. _ The Mayor said he would not remove Cr. Collins’ name from the committee, but would leave the appointments in the hands of the Council. He would put his name forward for election, and it would then rest with Cr. Collins whether he acted or not. Cr. Collins replied that he did not refuse to act, hut did not wish his name to be included on that committee. The committees as recommended by the Mayor were elected.
