OBITUARY.
REV. C. S. HOOPER. A NOTED METHODIST MINISTER. IPSS- ■' , B,ESB ASSOCIATION.J PALMERSTON N., Sept. 25. The death occurred yesterday of the Rev. G. S. Hooper, .one of the oldest Methodist Ministers in New Zealand. He landed at Lyttelton in. 1865, and took up work in Christchurch. A few months later he was transferred to Hokitika, being the only Wesleyan minister in the province for two years. He retired from active service in 1878 on account of his health, and was superannuated. He has resided m Palmerston for eight years.
