DUNEDIN COMPETITIONS
IPER PBESB ASSOCIATION.J DUNEDIN, Sept. 26. The Competitions Society’s Festival was continued to-day. Although the weather was very inclement to-night, His Majesty’s Theatre was packed, lhe principal results were as followslmpromptu speech, “Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder” : -R. McPherson 1, H. Clark 2, Miss L.M. Will 3. W. Dixon secured a special prize' in this oompeution for the most humorous remarks. Sacred solo: W. Watters 1, T W. Dobliie 2, G. Wilkinson 3. Piano duet,: Ruby Barth and Ettie; Summer 1, Jessie Jones* and-Elsie McDougall 2. Violin solo (under 13 years) : Miss Cicely Swete 1. Herbert Stevens 2, Allan Potter 3.
