SMALL SAVING BY RENEWAL

(From our Parliamentary Reporter ) " - WELLINGTON, Sept. 28. Loans aggregating £623,190 matured ■during theJast financial year, and £450 being outstanding,' new debenture® were issued for £621,638, the net decrease in. the public debt effected by the renewals and redemption being £llO2. An actual saving of £5lO in the annual interest was effected. During the present year loans aggregating £2,366,491 will mature. This amount includes loans totalling £1,094,715 raised on account of the State Guaranteed Advances Office.
