DEATH SENTENCE QUASHED.
FIRST TIME IN BRITAIN
[UNITED PRESS) ASSOCIATION—COPYBI GHT.S (Received Sept. 29, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 29. The Court of Criminal Appeal has quashed the sentence on Ellison for murdering liis sweetheart at Clerkenwell on the- 19th of August, on the ground that the principal witness required corroboration. This is the first time a capital conviction has been set aside.
