ENTERTAINMENTS.

PATHE PICTURES. 11 ‘Zululand” is the title of a gigantic cinematograph production to be introduced by the Pathe Picture management this evening. It is a .lengthy film, but it is, said that interest in its exhibition is so .great that it does not appear to be more than half the length to the spectator. The scenery is excellent, the picture having been taken in the wilds of Florida and among the incidents depicted the onlooker sees a white man chased by /Zulus and escaping only by a rare chance. Next comes a battle between the pursuers and a detachment of English soldiers, who guard a hospital, and tlie fight is a most realistic encounter. From the departure, of the hero from' England to his return, the depiction is brimful of incidents of . a most thrilling' character, and it will doubtless be acclaimed an immense success. A polite comedy, which should create a wealth of mirth, is one entitled “Betty Becomes a Maid,” and it is said to be cliarged with subtleties which charm and delight the onlookers. “Tho Lily of the Tenements” is a serious subject matter of which a great deal has been written, and its lesson cannot fail to bo appreciated. Owing to the Theatre being engaged on Monday and Tuesday, this series can only bo shown this evening. . •
